Welcome to Grace

We are followers of Jesus Christ who are striving to love others because God has loved us.  By His grace we have been given the opportunity to share the gospel in the Port Clinton, Catawba Island, and Marblehead areas.  If you have any questions or if you are just wondering who we are and what we do, please do not hesitate to visit or call.  We hope to see and worship God with you soon!

    Our Desperate Need

    May 26, 2016
What do you desperately need in life?  Some of you would answer this questions with the obvious: food, shelter, water, and sleep.  If you did, I want to encourage you to think harder.  What in the world do you desperately need in order to survive from day to day?  Many of us would say coffee, sports, money, a good show on Netflix, or even facebook are some things we need to enjoy our lives.  It's sad to say that when we develop this "need" mentality in life, it so often leads us do what is right in our own eyes, and in turn we forget what our most desperate need is. So the question is, what is our most desperate need?

    Right in Our Own Eyes

    May 20, 2016
In Judges 17:6 we read one of the saddest phrases in all of the Bible, "Everyone did what was right in his own eyes."  That word "everyone," means Israel, God's chosen people.  Instead of doing what was right according to God, Israel has adopted the secular mentality of relativism.

    The Nazirite pt. 3

    May 16, 2016
John the Baptist uttered the famous phrase, "He must increase, but I must decrease" (John 3:30).  This statement sounds very simple, yet because of our fallen, sinful nature, it is anything but simple.  How many times in your life have you recited this verse, but then go on to hypocritically do the opposite?  Where you pridefully increase yourself, which in turn makes Jesus decrease in your life?  The one thing I most admire about John the Baptist was that he knew his role in God's redemptive purpose for this world.  John kept God's view of his life in perspective while he proclaimed the coming Messiah.  And when Jesus came, rather than increasing himself, he decreased and taught all of his disciples that it is Jesus they should follow because "he who comes from above is above all" (John 3:31).  This makes me think about my purpose and my identity in life.  Do I see my life according to God's view, or do I see my life according to my view?

    The Nazirite pt. 2

    May 5, 2016
One of the marks of a Christian is their distinctiveness.  Throughout scripture we read how Christians are supposed to act, think, look, and live differently than the surrounding culture.  Peter sums it up in 1 Peter 2:9 "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light."  He goes on to urge Christians to be sojourners and exiles in this world.  Or in other words, he is pleading with them to remain the distinct chosen people they are.  Do you struggle being a distinct follower of Christ?
